Okay, so it is all great to travel and it is a life experience that you just won't get anywhere else...

BUT

People forget the 'non' fun part and that is the part of AIR TRAVEL. Airports, checkin, security, the cost of airport food, customs, immigration, airport staff ( who NEVER seem to enjoy their job ) and the list goes on.  I would love to complain about airline food but I actually like the stuff so that is a positive in the airlines defence.

I have travelled approximatley 74,543 miles so far as the crow flies, which is about 119,965 km!  To put that into perspective I was 35km just short of being about to travel around the world 3 times based on km travelled.  In saying that I have added in 11 more flights since my original itinerary so I have definetly kicked that statistic into next week.  I did look at the moon stats but it is approximatley 420,000km to the moon, so I wouldn't even get halfway there, even with the additional flights which adds around an additional 40,000km travelled. 

So far I have passed through and visited approximatley 69 airports and travelled on 29+ airlines - some of which I haven't even heard of.  But in some regions it is the only way to get there.  I am still to work out the mileage of my second round world ticket and my additional flights for the rest of the year-that will be interesting..... 

Like all plans, sometimes they don't always work out.  This happened to me in October 2012.  My trip to Ethiopia was suspended when I broke up with my boyfriend Zeme.  My world was turned upside down but now it is January 2013 and I have a new plan.  I am still moving to Africa, now in February and I am now thinking it will now be Kenya.  I will just have to see where I end up, but I am booked into Kenya and from there I am in the arms of fate.  So my travel plan for the next 4 weeks:

26 December Brisbane to London
07 January London to Barcelona
20 January Barcelona to Nairobi via Doha

So stayed tune and see where I will end up for 2013.  This is all I have planned till.  Scary huh!!!!

When you least expect it things can change that are totally out of your control.  My move to Ethiopia has now been postponed till early January 2013 due to some unrest in the country and Zeme's work commitments.  So I had 3 months that I needed to fill in-so I went and saw Zeme as planned in September but only for 9 days and my next 2.5 month plan is:

Below was my second itinerary to get me home and back to Ethiopia in September 2012.  I have now used all my flight coupons on the first round world ticket and now Beth and I have just about finalised my next set of flights on another round world ticket.  So next time you think what a lucky devil I am remember it is is not all cocktails and foreign men - there is a down side to the travel bug - but one unfortunately that can not be avoided for any holiday maker.
